Paul, a certified specialist, is an experienced attorney who has practiced Family Law in San Diego for more than 30 years. A native San DIegan, he has a juris doctor degree from the School of Law of the University of California at Los Angeles, and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the University of California at Riverside. His family has been in San Diego since 1926.
He maintains offices in Rancho Santa Fe and Escondido. He practices regularly in both the Main [San Diego] and North County [Vista] Branches of the Superior Court. His practice is limited to Family Law
Paul offers a wide range of solutions for all Family Law problems, including extensive experience discovering assets and income. He is also experienced in civil litigation, real estate, and business matters. His two paralegals are both certified, and have been with him for 21 and 7 years respectively.
Paul has served as a director of the North County Bar Association, chair of both its Family Law and Law Office Management & Technology Sections, Treasurer of the North County Branch of Lawyers Club, Member of the Executive Committee of the Certified Specialists Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association, and Vice Chair of the Certified Specialists of Northern San Diego County.
After law school, Paul served as law clerk to the Honorable Fred Kunzel of the Federal District Court for the Southern District of California, then went on to serve as Deputy County Counsel for San Diego County representing 13 school districts. Before opening his own practice, he was associated with a large law firm in San Diego, handling primarily government agency, land use, and environmental matters. He has practiced Family Law for more than 30 years, and has been a certified specialist since 1992. He has served as a pro tem judge in family law matters since 1978, conducting trials and settlement conferences, acted as a special master for the courts, and been hired by other lawyers as a private judge. He is available to serve in each capacity.
Paul was trained in mediation through the Northern California Mediation Center, conducted by Joan Kelly and Nancy Davis, in 1993. He is a trained Collaborative Practitioner, and a member of both Collaborative Practice groups in San Diego and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals [IACP]. He performs mediation, and handles Collaborative cases.
Paul is admitted to practice in all the courts of the State of California, and relevant Federal courts including the United States Supreme Court, the 9th District Court of Appeal, and the Southern District of California.

In addition to practicing law, he has been elected to four terms as Chair of the San Dieguito Planning Group, a citizen's advisory group on land use matters for the County of San Diego, been president of a mutual water company, and served as a member of his community's town council. He is married to Pamela, who manages a medical practice - they have one child and two grandchildren.
